I haven’t yet found a way to photograph these metallic sparkle yarns in such a way that the sparkles show up. With or without the flash they vanish in my photos, yet they are quite pronounced in  real life. In this colourway the metallic thread is red, and the best I can get it to show is if you look very close at the green.

The two size Small socks in my photo are knit from two separate balls within the same dyelot and contained in the same package. But you’ll see the jacquard behaves quite differently between the two socks. And this difference repeats in the second pair I knit. Not sure what that’s about.

Still, nice effect, and will make a nice addition to my Christmas display.

The yarn is made in Turkey. Seems a lot of sock yarns are no being made in Turkey, even if marketed under companies from other countries like Germany or Italy.

The gold coloured metallic thread runs through out the yarn. I didn’t have any problems with snagging the thread.

The yarn has the feel of an Opal/Fortissima – no roughness from the metallic thread that I can detect with my leathery man fingers.

This pair is size Small, knit with the 54 cylinder on the Legare 400.
