Orchid Hush

From the dye room this week:

One of the colours from the Pantone Fall 2011 Forecast is Orchid Hush.  That’s it on the left side of my drying rack. The other two batches are deeper values of the same colour.

The yarn is fingering weight 100% Blue Faced Leicester. The colours are quite variegated which doesn’t show so much in my photo. I’ll take another shot once their dry and I rewound the skeins.

  1. This is not for socks or? The colors look great. I found out that pure wool is much warmer than the 80/20 wool nylon superwash sock yarns. Ok, the socks may only last three months but then I can just make my a new pair. This winter I really liked my 100%wool socks.(and my Canadian boots).

  2. Yes, its a sock yarn. The twist is quite good. I’ll knit in some wooly nylon on the heels and toes the same as I do with other 100% wool socks that I knit.

I kept reading about this ‘wonderful bfl’ on other blogs. And then someone gifted me a skein to try. I liked the feel of it so decided to try doing some up myself.
