Some samples from yet another Koigu colourway in KPPPM – P148.
I forgot to take a shot in the skeins – sometimes I get caught up in the winding, and then get excited by the colours and dive into the knitting without snapping the skein shot.
This is one case where I’m particularly sorry I didn’t take the shot of the skeins.
If you look at the heels and toes in both samples, you can see that Orange takes the lead – and that’s almost exactly how it looked in the skein. But see also in both pairs that in the legs and feet Red takes over as the dominant colour, even though the stripes take different effect in the Small (54 cylinder) and Medium (72 cylinder).
It blows my mind how that patterning in the knit can change, when the patterning in the yarn doesn’t alter. It seems that in the short rows Orange ends up against Orange, while in the 54 and 72 stitch rows each row of Orange ends up against anything except Orange while the Reds rendez-vous at every opportunity!

Those are mighty beautiful! I love orange…this whole Koigu stash has been interesting to watch knit up! Are you nearing the end of your truckload soon? Hope everything’s great at the farm. Looks like our weather might start to cooperate any day now.
Barely a dint in my Koigu stash! I will be at it for a while yet. No doubt I’ll switch over to one of the other stashes before I hit Koigu bottom, and then, as always, return to it once more.
